OC Power Authority to Appoint CEO and COO at January 12 Meeting

Implementation timeline and Irvine staff support also to be discussed
The newly-seated Orange County Power Authority board of directors will announce the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer tomorrow, according to the agenda for the January 12 board meeting. The public may participate via Zoom (see link below).
The first part of the meeting will take place in a closed session where the board will appoint the new leaders and approve the employment agreements. The agenda also indicates the board will delegate authority to execute the employment agreements to OCPA Chair Mike Carroll (Irvine) and/or Vice Chair Fred Jung (Fullerton).
The agenda also includes an implementation plan and timeline, with key deliverables planned from January 2021 through December 2022. Based on the timeline, OCPA will undertake numerous regulatory, data management, and communications tasks in the next few months, including a multi-lingual public outreach and marketing plan.
An agreement to formalize the relationship between the City of Irvine and OCPA is also on the agenda for tomorrow’s meeting. Under the agreement, Irvine will provide staff and administrative support at meetings, and OCPA will reimburse Irvine for all costs related to OCPA with 2% interest annually.
A temporary OCPA website was launched in December, and is currently housed in the energy section of the City of Irvine website.
