Do IBC Residents Need Additional Retail?

During the February 4, 2010 Transportation Commission meeting, city staff will present a proposal to amend Irvine’s zoning ordinance in the Irvine Business Complex (“IBC”). The amendment would provide an incentive for developers to build additional retail in the IBC. The incentive would consist of reducing the “Developer Retail Development Intensity Value” fees and costs by 38%. Commission members are being asked to give direction regarding the proposed zoning code amendment.

This would be a great opportunity for IBC residents to read the staff report, come to City Hall, watch the presentation, and comment on their opinions regarding more retail development in the IBC.
