Who Approved the New Great Park Logo? Kevin Corrigan Addresses Great Park Board

Great Park Board Meeting Public Comment Spotlight: Kevin Corrigan
Irvine resident Kevin Corrigan addressed the Great Park Board regarding the new logo that has appeared on the Great Park Ice facility without a public hearing and without receiving City Council or Great Park Board approval. So how did it get there? Where were the re-designs Mayor Khan stated would be coming?
Watch here:
For background, at the July 27, 2021, Great Park Board meeting, the following logos were proposed for consideration during the discussion regarding the Great Park Renaming Evaluation. The public was informed these were simply initial designs and that new design ideas would be forthcoming.
On November 9, 2021, Chairwoman Khan stated, “I did ask staff to come back with some new logo designs because in the first round I believe none of the members here responded… New designs are coming forward and that is what was requested at the last Great Park Board meeting.”
However, we never received new designs. And now the Great Park Ice facility has one of the originally proposed logos installed. And there is no record of who or when it was approved.
