I have been noticing recently that a lack of transparency at Irvine City Hall is happening. Here is an example: The recordings of commission meetings used to have an index below the recording (see the black box area in the image below) that would allow anyone interested to see what was discussed at that meeting. In addition, each item in the agenda would have a link that would take you to the spot in the video for that particular item of the meeting recording. However, that no longer seems to be the case.

Below is an example from the Community Services Commission. It is an image from a recent Community Services Commission meeting video, but it does not even indicate the date of the meeting. A quick look at the Planning Commission videos showed something similar.

Some of the recordings have an agenda available on the right side of the screen, which is helpful but is not sufficient to compensate for the lack of the index under the recording. Additionally, not all past commission meetings even have the agenda listed. How far back this lack of transparency goes is uncertain.

Irvine Commissioners, please ensure that your commission has the index with links to each agenda item under the video. In addition, please ensure that the agenda shows at the right of the video. And have the recordings of past commission meetings updated for more transparency.

Who made the decision to make the commission videos so much more user unfriendly? And who at Irivne City Hall decided this lack of transparency was acceptable?
