Irvine Candidate Forum: Thursday, October 1 at 7 PM

Updated 09/30/2020

Irvine Watchdog is excited to announce its second Irvine Mayor and Council Candidate Forum. The event will be live-streamed on Thursday, October 1 at 7:00 PM. Please click here to participate on the day, or to view a recording of the event after the fact.

Submit Your Questions

This is an important opportunity to hear directly from the candidates as we enter the final weeks before the election on November 3rd. Unlike other candidate forums, all the questions in this forum come from you. Please let us know what issues matter most to you and submit any questions you would like us to ask the candidates by completing this brief questionnaire* as soon as possible. Feel free to share the link with other Irvine residents too — we appreciate your helping us hear from as many people as possible. (*As of September 19, 2020 the questionnaire has been closed to new submissions. Thank you to all who participated, and tune into the forum on October 1st to hear candidates respond to as many questions as possible.)

Moderator Dr. Richard A. Matthew

Moderating this year’s event is UC Irvine’s esteemed Dr. Richard A. Matthew. Among his many distinctions, Dr. Matthew is the Associate Dean for Research and International Programs, Professor of Urban Planning and Public Policy, and Director of the Blum Center for Poverty Alleviation at UC Irvine. He is also a Senior Fellow at IISD in Geneva; a member of the United Nations Expert Group on Environment, Conflict and Peacebuilding; a member of the IUCN Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy and co-chair of its Task Force on Conservation, Migration and Conflict; and the Vice-President of the Environmental Peacebuilding Association
